![]() ![]() I figured that the difference between Back and Side channels were their angle compared to the Center, and that the difference does matter in 7.1 far more than it does in 5.1. Like you can see don't exist (in wav specs) a exact correspondence with Surround channels in 5.1 (120º)īefore XP SP2 the FL FR FC LF BL BR maskchannels was used for 5.1, after the FL FR FC LF SL SR was recommended but the previous one is also accepted. SL SR = Side Channels at 90º (more or less) With 7.1 config the order in wav files is: FL FR FC LF BL BR SL SRīL BR = Back Channels at 150º (more or less) The Surround channels must be at +-120º from Central channel (more or less) Don't exist difference between Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1 or any 5.1 config, is always 3 front channels, 2 surround channels and LFE.
